NSA Student Awards & Travel GrantsA) If you present at the National Annual Scientific MeetingStudent Travel Grants for ASMThese cash grants are provided for students who are presenting their research in oral or poster form at the national Annual Scientific Meeting. They are based on the airfare from your city to the city where the conference is taking place (though it should be noted that NSA provides only part of the standard air-fare).
Successful applicants receive their cheques in November.
Prizes for best oral and poster presentations at ASM
NSA awards six prizes for the best presentations by student NSA members at the Annual Scientific Meeting. Three are for oral presentations, and three for poster presentations. Students are now eligible for these prizes anytime during their time as a student. However, you can only win one oral and one poster prize during your student period.
Applying for Student Travel Grants and Student PrizesTo be eligible for the student travel grants and the best presentation prizes, you must, NO LATER THAN JULY 31 You must also register for the ASM. (Online registration for the ASM is usally available in August) If you wish to be considered for the best presentation prizes, you must indicate on the abstract submission form that you are entering for the student prizes.
B) If you publish in international nutrition journalsNestlé Nutrition Institute Emerging Researcher AwardEligibility criteria: This award is for the best such paper. It includes a $1,000 cheque, free registration to the NSA Annual Scientific Meeting in the year the award is given, and a certificate. For details, click HERE Application deadline for 2010: To be advised NSA gratefully acknowledges the generous funding provided by the Nestle Nutrition Institute for this award. Early Career Scholarships to Attend International ConferencesEligibility criteria: These awards are for the best such papers. In 2009 NSA awarded six scholarships, and it is expected that up to six will be on offer in 2010. Each scholarship includes up to $2,500 to be spent on attending an international nutrition conference in 2010 (registration, travel and accommodation), and a certificate. The details for 2010 are currently under review, but are expected to be similar to those for 2009 Application deadline: to be advised soon.
