PhD Scholarship at Scholarship at University of Wollongong

The project at the Smart Foods Centre is part of an ARC Linkage grant combining capacities in food science at Curtin University, nutrition & dietetics at the University of Wollongong, and translational expertise of George Weston’s Foods and Sanitarium Health and Wellbeing. You will be based at the University of Wollongong with primary responsibility for human feeding trials involving new grain foods. As part of the research team, you will help to develop appropriate foods, and then to design, implement and evaluate meal-based studies to examine short-term effects of consuming them. You will to be well-motivated, with an excellent record of academic achievement in an appropriate science-related degree, demonstrate knowledge of the science associated with this type of research, and provide evidence of research experience and outputs. The scholarship is available to begin in the second semester of 2011.

PhD scholarships at Deakin University

Deakin University's Centre for Physical Activity and Nutrition Research (C-PAN) has two PhD Scholarships on offer in nutrition and population health with Dr Sarah McNaughton, an ARC Future Fellow. Their value is $22,860pa.

~ Project 1: Dietary behaviours among older

~ Project 2: Dietary patterns and cardiovascular disease risk in young children

 In both projects, options include identifying dietary patterns and tracking changes in diet over time, exploring associations between diet and quality of life and cardiovascular risk and influences on nutrition behaviours).   You need a Bachelors degree with Honours (or equivalent qualifications) in nutrition, dietetics, or a related area.
