Conference 2010

Nutrition Society of Australia 2010 Annual Scientific Meeting

30 November - 3 December 2010

This year’s Annual Scientific Meeting of the Nutrition Society of Australia is being held in Perth, WA at the Convention Centre. Situated in the heart of the city on the banks of the Swan River, the Centre is within easy walking distance of many hotels, restaurants and tourist attractions. The WA Group of the Nutrition Society of Australia extends you a warm welcome and invites you to come and enjoy the beautiful city of Perth, nearby Fremantle, our beautiful beaches and the Margaret River and Swan Valley wine regions.

The goal of the Society is to increase and communicate scientific value and relevance of nutrition science to Australian nutrition. Members include human nutritionists and dieticians, medical practitioners and nurses, agricultural scientists and veterinarians, food scientists, teachers and students.

The theme of this year’s conference is “Nutrition Sustainability”, a particularly relevant topic in today’s climate. A range of invited speakers from overseas and around Australia will present information on a range of important nutritional areas. Plenary themes include:
• Vitamin D – The Great Debate (sunlight or supplements)

• Human Nutrition: Clinical Trials & Population Health
• Nutritional Epidemiology & Chronic Disease
• Infant & Child Health
• Adapting Food Production Systems in a Changing Global Environment

The conference will also provide an excellent marketing opportunity for food and associated companies through sponsorship and trade displays.
